If managing director Anna Bärnreuther were to name a core topic, it would probably be reliability. “Our trucks at Bärnreuther + Deuerlein remain in use for around eight years and are in top condition despite the amount of dust and stone.” The vehicles go through a lot of stress: They commute between the quarry, the company’s own gravel plants and construction sites. For this reason, Bärnreuther is relying on Arocs and Actros for the new acquisitions that have just been added to its fleet. “All available safety systems and the MirrorCam are also installed in the trucks.” Because: “What we’re buying now is something we’ll be driving for a long time, so I don’t invest in old technology anymore,” says Bärnreuther.

Innovation is also important to the managing director when it comes to fleet management. In addition to Mercedes‑Benz Uptime and the service contracts, she also makes use of the My TruckPoint offer. “With this platform, we have a direct overview of all the vehicles with all their data, and we can access the service contracts and immediately order the spare parts that match the exact chassis number. When I was offered this solution, I immediately agreed.” Anna Bärnreuther is already looking forward to the upcoming innovations. “Let’s see what’s coming,” she says, looking calmly down into the quarry from the side window. Then the phone rings again.
