What is it that logistics specialists urgently need today? Everyone knows: more drivers. “Today, it takes more than good pay to keep drivers in the company and recruit new ones”, says Daniel Stancke, CEO of the Hamburg driver job site jobmatch.me. “There are many reasons for job satisfaction: appreciation experienced plays a role here as well as a positive culture of discussion. Offers for work‑life balance can also be decisive.” If these basic factors are lacking, drivers quickly start looking elsewhere. However: Change is possible.
Achieve more with one other.
Daniel Stancke: “Driver loyalty is the magic word. For example, there are companies that support their drivers in official matters.” This provides relief where it is needed most. Communication between dispatchers and drivers on an equal footing is also part of this, as both jobs require a great deal of effort. Due to the high workload, there is often no time to address disagreements or resolve conflicts on both sides. “A good approach is then to get help from outside: coaching can improve collaboration and the satisfaction of everyone involved.” Then the drivers come. And stay. Not just in Hamburg.
