High performance engine brake.
The three-stage, wear-free auxiliary brake is optionally available for even greater safety, offering up to 300 kW of braking power according to the installed engine variant.
Engine brake.
The three-stage brake system offering up to 235 kW of brake power, which comes as standard on vehicles with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 9.5 t or over, reduces wear on the service brake while enhancing safety and control of the vehicle.
Transmission variants.
To enable specific tailoring to the intended application, the Atego is available with a 6-, 8- or 9-speed transmission. In conjunction with the perfectly matched rear axle ratios, it offers an economical drivetrain.
Mercedes PowerShift 3.
A tangible dynamic response, simple handling and low fuel consumption: The automated transmission ensures precise gear selection, short shift times, high driving comfort and a very high level of economic efficiency.
With Mercedes PowerShift 3, additional functions such as direct shifting from 1 to R and one reverse gear with a high ratio93 provide for simple manoeuvring. The crawl function makes particularly easy work of moving off.
Atego driving programmes.
The Atego is available with the two driving programs "economy" or "power", one of which you can select at the time of purchase. Different transmission modes enhance driving comfort and efficiency.
Economy driving program. The driving program can be activated selectively and supports a particularly economical driving style. It is a functional addition to the "standard" transmission mode.
power driving programme. This driving mode supports an agile mode of driving in difficult topography.
