Transformation for the Future
In 2018 PROJECT FUTURE was launched by Daimler to begin visionary structural transformation, with three independent entities under one roof. Three independent stock companies operating legally under the umbrella of Daimler AG: Mercedes-Benz AG (responsible for Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles & vans), Daimler Truck AG (responsible for 7 global brands of Trucks & Buses), and Daimler Mobility AG (responsible for mobility services, as well as financial services).
In this context, the organizational structural change at Mercedes-Benz also began in Indonesia, with the establishment of PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia as the sole distributor of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles and PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia as the sole distributor of Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles and vans. With the presence of PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia, it is hoped that the success achieved by PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia in producing and assembling Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles through the Wanaherang plant can continue.
PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia has also managed to maintain its commitment to support government policies, from controlling the level of imported components to assembling Mercedes-Benz Indonesian commercial vehicle products through the Incomplete Knock Down (IKD) scheme, with almost 30% of its components produced domestically.
