The one-touch indicator function which comes as standard further improves driving comfort in the Actros: just touch the combination switch once and the indicators on the Actros flash five times.
Excellent lighting conditions – the interior lighting.
The interior lighting: two dimmable lights set into the roof lining provide focussed illumination of the interior. Workspace lighting which can be switched on separately is also incorporated, and there is also a green light for stress-free night-time driving which won't leave you with tired eyes. Dimmable blue ambient lighting is also available for the L cab on request.

Seats.
The comfort and climate-controlled suspension seat.
The ergonomic design of the comfort suspension seat guarantees a relaxed and safe ride. A wide range of adjustment options and the comfortable fittings ensure the driver enjoys excellent working conditions. The comfort suspension seat is optionally available for driver and co-driver in leather with pneumatic lumbar support and seat heating.
Maximum comfort on request for driver and co-driver: the climate-controlled suspension seat with multi-stage ventilation. The seat's climate control system provides a pleasant flow of air and offers switchable seat heating to enhance driving comfort and reduce perspiration on long journeys. The fans are distributed to avoid the occurrence of any uncomfortable draughts. In addition, the climate-controlled suspension seat also has a horizontal spring which noticeably dampens horizontal vibrations. Other comfort-enhancing features include: height-adjustable seatbelt, removable headrest and upholstered armrests. After all, work is already tough enough.
All Actros seats come with hard-wearing easy-care velour covers in the "Brasao" design as standard. Flat-weave covers in “Brasao” are also available as an alternative option. The comfort suspension seat for driver and co-driver is also available in part leather on request.
Stowage compartments.
You can never have enough stowage compartments.
The S, M and L cabs all benefit from the ergonomic layout of the controls and sensible stowage facility concept which make the Actros cockpit an excellent working environment for just about any area of application. The exterior stowage compartment which is also accessible from within the cab is extremely practical, for example, with easily enough space to fit a standard-size crate of drinks. For chilled refreshments on the road the optionally available 25-litre refrigerator is the perfect addition for any cab variant.
In the high-roof L there are three illuminated stowage compartments which can be fitted with folding covers on request. In the M cab the stowage crates behind the seats provide plenty of space for everything that might come in handy on the building site. And in the S cab there are tool boxes behind the seats to make sure everything is kept neat and tidy in its proper place.
For optimum temperature and air distribution in the cab – heating, climate control and ball-type air vent.
In the Actros, your well-being starts with the working climate. In the S and M cabs, a powerful air-regulated heating and ventilation system, fitted as standard with a dust filter for optimum air distribution and comfortable temperatures. Manually controlled air conditioning is available on request. In addition, automatic climate control is available for all cabs, which automatically adjusts functions such as the fan setting, temperature and air distribution. And the Air Quality System automatically switches from fresh to recirculated air mode when necessary. Also available as an option: an auxiliary heater.
In addition, the ball-type air vents on the interior door panels increase safety and comfort by preventing the side window from misting up and freezing over and support the optimum distribution of air in the cab.
Digital tachograph.
Records relevant data – the digital tachograph.
The digital tachograph records all relevant data, such as driving times and breaks, vehicle and engine speeds. This is all saved on the chip in the driver's card and the mass storage memory, from where it can be read electronically.
Battery level display
The battery status display and the graphics-capable instrument cluster.
The battery status display is standard equipment and provides extra reliability and convenience. It gives the information about the battery charge level and starting capability, helping to prevent unintended downtime.
With the almost completely glare-free graphics-capable instrument cluster, the driver can see all the most important data at a glance. The integrated function check which monitors the main functional units is a particularly time-saving feature. The battery charge level can be accessed quickly and conveniently here as well. The analogue and digital displays in the instrument cluster are extremely easy to read thanks to the excellent combination of text, colours and scaling.
Multifunction steering wheel.
In control – with the multifunction steering wheel.
The multifunction steering wheel makes things easier in many ways, whether you need to take a call, adjust the volume of the radio or check the oil level in the driver's information system, for example. The steering wheel is also available in leather on request. It feels even better and is of the highest quality. With pneumatic steering wheel locking its height can be adjusted steplessly by up to 66 mm and the tilt angle by 10° to 42°. This ensures optimum driving comfort, makes it easier to get in and out and to cross through to the co-driver's side.

The illuminated switches for the central locking system, mirror adjustment and mirror heating are laid out in a user-friendly arrangement. The ball-type air vent prevents the side windows from misting or freezing over, and provides a flow of cool air for the driver in the summer months.
Comfort and convenience are also enhanced by means of the illuminated control panel for the Telligent® level control system, not to mention by the switch in the cockpit which allows the Actros to be brought back to the standard level. Integrated white light-emitting diodes make the switches even easier to read and operate in the dark.
Roller sunblind.
For reduced heat penetration and glare – the roller sunblind.
From the outside, the two slanted transparent exterior parts of the sun visor complete the unmistakable face of the Actros. The central stainless steel panel creates a distinctive appearance and emphasises the impression of quality. Inside, the driver's side roller sunblind – standard equipment in the L cab – ensures that less heat can penetrate in hot weather and reduces glare, providing greater safety and driving comfort in bright sunlight. A roller sunblind for the passengers side is also available on request.
Compressed-air connection.
Practical equipment as standard – the compressed-air connection.
Especially useful: the standardised compressed-air connection on the back of the driver's seat, fitted as standard. The compressed air can easily be used for cleaning the cab, for example. A compatible compressed-air gun with spiral hose is available on request.
More details.
There are further optional items of equipment with practical functions to make work on the construction site more agreeable: for example, radios with Bluetooth hands-free facility which use radio technology to wirelessly access the entries in the SIM card in a compatible mobile phone. All these entries can be access direct from the steering wheel buttons. A holder with integrated charging function and antenna connection is fitted for mobile phones. As well as a radio and CD player compatible with all modern music formats there are also interfaces for connecting MP3 players, CD changers and TV.
A special Mercedes-Benz truck navigation system helps you get where you're going even more quickly in most European countries. The truck-specific dynamic route guidance with DVD navigation system and integrated TMC actively provides information and suggests alternative routes for avoiding traffic congestion.
The optionally available folding table is easily erected and folded away, enabling you to eat and work in a relaxed environment on the co-driver's side. The table has a hard-wearing surface and can be stowed away in the rear stowage compartment or the centre stowage compartment above the windscreen in the L cab. The folding table can also be supplied for the M cab on request. The rubber floor mats, available ex works, are particularly practical and hard-wearing, and are shaped to fit the floor of the relevant cab.
