Proximity Control Assist8, 5.
This assistance system with stop-and-go function is on hand to help the driver to maintain speeds and distances to vehicles ahead and can reduce the risk of rear-end collisions.
Sensor-controlled fifth-wheel coupling.
The sensor-controlled fifth-wheel coupling8 notifies the driver via a display in the instrument cluster whether the fifth-wheel coupling is open or closed. This increases safety and saves on repair costs.
Secondary water retarder.
The secondary water retarder8, 9 is wear- and maintenance-free and offers increased brake power, higher average speeds on downhill stretches and less weight than conventional oil retarders.
Bi-xenon headlamps8,2.
Both the dipped and the main beam headlamps benefit from the high light output of the bi-xenon lamps, which also use less energy than the standard headlights.
Active Brake Assist 410,11.
The fourth generation of the system assists the driver3,4 by carrying out full brake application in response to stationary and moving objects and partial braking in response to pedestrians in motion; in this way, it can reduce the severity of accidents or even prevent them completely.
