Engine performance data.
The Arocs Euro VI engines: Future-oriented technology, up to 460 kW (625 hp) and 3000 Nm maximum torque. The Arocs up to 250 tonnes is available exclusively with the engines of the 15.6 l displacement class (OM 473).
Sustained high power transmission. The way it should be in the heavy haulage sector.
High output on its own is not sufficient – it has to be applied exactly where and, above all, when it is needed. With the Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated gearshift, application-matched drive programs, 16 gears and the turbo retarder clutch, the Arocs rated at up to 250 tonnes shows how it’s done.
Heavy-duty vehicle auxiliary radiator system.
The additional cooling system ensures that the full output available from the engine can be used without any time restrictions. It also enables maximum deployment times for the integrated retarder. When alternating between traction and braking, in high exterior temperatures and at high altitudes, especially during heavily laden ascents, the rear-mounted radiator system ensures that performance is maintained. The system is accommodated in the cooling tower behind the cab.
Turbo Retarder Clutch.
It delivers particularly high power for precise, wear-free pulling away while also enabling manoeuvring at low revs and the full torque of up to 3000 Nm for as long as is necessary.
The wear-free Turbo Retarder Clutch combines the functions of a hydrodynamic start-up clutch and a primary retarder in a single component.
Engines, transmissions, gearshift.
Mercedes PowerShift 3.
In the new Actros rated at up to 250 tonnes, the Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated gearshift is fitted in conjunction with the turbo retarder clutch and an optimally configured 16-speed constant-mesh transmission. The "heavy" shift mode is available for precise gear selection according to the given driving situation. The crawl function with integral manoeuvring mode makes moving off really easy and manoeuvring precise and responsive. Furthermore, there are various driving modes and additional functions to make driving a heavy haulage truck and load easier.
Heavy driving program41. The driving program is specially designed for heavy haulage work. It features impressively short shift times and a precise gear selection adapted to the given situation.
Power41 drive program. It comprises the driving modes "power", "standard" and "manual". "power" is designed for on-road use and supports driving with an onus on power as necessary.
Transmission G 280-16 / 11.7-0.69.
For particularly heavy-duty tasks, the Arocs SLT is available with Mercedes PowerShift and a 16-speed transmission.
Cab variants.
StreamSpace L-cab (2300 mm).
Thanks to ample space and stowage facilities as well as the standard comfort bed which is 2000 mm long and 750 mm wide, the 2300 mm wide StreamSpace L-cab is also suitable for operations that last more than a day. The cab is available with a 170 mm or 320 mm high engine tunnel or with an optional level floor. In comparison to the ClassicSpace L-cab, the StreamSpace L-cab has more space and greater headroom.

BigSpace L-cab.
The BigSpace L-cab with level floor, 1.99 m headroom and a width of 2500 mm boasts great freedom of movement and plenty of stowage space. It is suitable for operations which regularly include overnight stays.
