The synchromesh transmissions for the Actros are noted for facilitating low engine speeds at high road speeds. Excellent climbing ability, low manoeuvring speeds, durability, low-noise operation and optimised power-to-weight ratio make the Actros transmissions true all-round performers.
Mercedes PowerShift.
We do our utmost to deliver maximum comfort.
With its optimised gearshift comfort, fast gear changes, low fuel consumption and reduced wear, the latest evolution of the Mercedes PowerShift 12-speed automated transmission for road vehicles will impress driver and operator alike. Separately selectable programs along with selectable additional functions for specific tasks have helped to improve ride comfort, safety and economy. A Manoeuvring Mode, for example, allows extremely precise manoeuvres to be performed, whilst the EcoRoll Mode can save fuel.
Telligent® gearshift.
"Flick of the wrist" gearshifting.
As an alternative to Mercedes PowerShift, the proven Telligent® gearshift remains available. It meets all the requirements expected of a modern gearshift: to shift up or down, all the driver has to do is nudge the shift lever forwards or back. Telligent® gearshift each time instantly calculates the optimum gear in terms of torque, engine speed and fuel consumption. The pre-selected gear then appears on the display.
If in agreement, all the driver needs to do is operate the clutch. Yet the driver always has the final say: if it makes more sense to choose a different gear from the one proposed, for example if driving on winding roads or in the mountains, gear selection can be done manually. And by using the shift paddle, the driver can conveniently split gears as required, for example to shift up or down just one gear. Excessively high revs and gearshift errors are a thing of the past with Telligent® gearshift.
Axles.
The right axle makes all the difference.
The tried-and-tested regular: the HL 7 planetary hub reduction axle. All axles have an impressively robust and reliable design and are designed for axle loads of up to 13 t. The standard differential lock and ASR ensure maximum traction even in tough conditions. Likewise ready for any task are the durable front stub axles for the Actros. Their offset design allows body height to be maximised for long-distance transport operations. All front axles are equipped as standard with stabiliser bars and shock absorbers and are available with carrying capacities of up to 7.5 t.
